Mobile tyre fitting
that comes to you
A mobile tyre fitter who comes to your home, your workplace or a safe place to park. Budget, mid-range or premium tyres, fitted and balanced at the car, from one base at Brent Cross in north-west London.
What is mobile tyre fitting?
Mobile tyre fitting is the job a tyre garage does, carried out wherever your car is parked. A mobile tyre fitter drives to you, takes the wheel off, fits and balances the new tyre and puts the wheel back on. No queue, no waiting room, no time off work.
Rescue Tyres LTD runs its mobile tyre service from one base, a tyre depot at Unit 9 Adrian Avenue, Brent Cross, London NW2 1LX. It is not a walk-in garage: the work happens where your car is. The business was founded by Hiwad Yarkhil, has fitted more than 2,000 tyres and is fully insured. We run more than one van, and the fitter brings tyre fitting and wheel balancing equipment to the car, so the job is finished there. Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays are possible when the diary allows, at the same price as a weekday job.
Who it suits
- Households. Tyres fitted at home, on the drive or in the street outside, while you carry on with your day.
- People at work. We fit in the business car park while you work.
- Drivers with a damaged tyre. A split or flat tyre is not something to drive to a garage on.
- Anyone short of time or options. Parents with young children, drivers with limited mobility and anyone far from a tyre centre.

How does mobile tyre fitting work?
Every visit follows the same four steps.
Send your size and location
Call or WhatsApp 07473 720871, or book online. Give us the tyre size, your registration and where the car is. A sidewall photo is fine. The enquiry is free.
Choose a tyre, agree the price
We source budget, mid-range and premium tyres in your size. The price is agreed on the call before any work, and you are given an arrival time on the call.
The fitter comes to you
Travel time depends on how far you are from Brent Cross. At the car, the old tyre comes off, the new one goes on with a new valve where needed, and the wheel is balanced.
Torqued and checked
The wheel goes back on and the nuts are torqued to the manufacturer setting. Pressures are set and the old tyre is taken away for disposal.
If a tyre is flat or punctured, the same van handles puncture repairs to BS AU 159 where the damage allows, and fits a replacement where it does not.
Which tyres can a mobile tyre fitter fit?
Common sizes are often on the van; other sizes are sourced for the job. The price is agreed before anything is booked.
Budget, mid-range and premium
Budget tyres suit a low-mileage or second car, mid-range tyres balance price and tread life, and premium brands usually brake better in the wet. New tyres carry the manufacturer's warranty. See our budget versus premium guide.
Run-flat tyres
Many cars leave the factory on run-flats with no spare. We fit replacements in the correct size and load rating; many makers do not allow a puncture repair. Our run-flat tyres page explains the rules.
4x4 and SUV tyres
Larger SUV and 4x4 sizes, including all-terrain patterns, are sourced the same way. Give us the full size on the call so we can confirm the job suits the van.
Electric car tyres
Electric cars are heavy and quiet, so many specify a higher load rating and sometimes noise-reducing foam. We match the size, load index and marking your car needs. See EV tyres.
XL extra load tyres
If your tyres say XL or Extra Load, the replacements should too, with the same load index or higher. We check it against your registration.
Winter and all-season tyres
Tyres with the three-peak mountain snowflake mark grip better in cold, wet weather. We source them to order in your size. See winter tyres.
Mobile tyre fitting vs a tyre garage
Both fit the same tyres to the same standard. The real difference is who does the travelling.
| Rescue Tyres mobile fitting | Tyre garage | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the work happens | At home, at work or a safe place to park off the main road | At the garage, so the car has to get there |
| Your time | Carry on with your day while the tyre is fitted | Drive there, wait, drive back |
| A flat or damaged tyre | No need to drive on it, the fitter comes to the car | The car has to reach the garage safely first |
| Fitting and balancing | Tyre fitting and wheel balancing equipment brought to the car | Workshop tyre machine and balancer |
| Price | Confirmed on the call before any work | Varies by garage, so check what is included |
| Hours | Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays when the diary allows, at the same price as a weekday job | Usually set opening hours |
| Four-wheel alignment | We do not offer it: it needs a workshop rig | Available where the garage has an alignment rig |
Mobile fitting is not the answer every time. If a wheel is bent or the car pulls to one side after a hard kerb strike, we say so rather than fit a tyre that will wear out early. Our guide to mobile versus garage tyre fitting goes into more detail.
Where can a mobile fitter work, and where not?
The fitter needs firm, level ground, room to open the van and jack the car, and a spot away from moving traffic. Most places qualify. A few do not, and it is better to know before you book.
- Driveways, quiet residential streets and car parks. These are the easiest jobs. A workplace car park works well too, so you can carry on with your day.
- Motorway hard shoulders and emergency areas: never. We do not work there. If it is safe, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and behind the barrier, then call National Highways on 0300 123 5000, or 999 if you are in danger. Once recovery has moved the car to a safe place, we meet it there.
- Soft or sloping ground. A jack on grass, gravel or a steep camber is unsafe. A flat stretch of road or a car park a few metres away usually solves it.
- Multi-storey car parks. Height barriers can stop the van getting in. Tell us the level and any height limit and we plan around it.
- Private land and gated estates. Some need permission from the site manager first. A quick call ahead saves the fitter being turned away.
- Red routes, bus lanes and restricted parking. The van has to park too. If the car can be driven safely, move it round the corner, or agree a legal spot with us first.
Rain does not stop a job. Very high winds and lightning can, and we will tell you at the time. If the spot is unsuitable and the car cannot be moved safely, we say so before anyone sets off. If the job is urgent, tell us on the call: urgent jobs are fitted in if the diary allows, and we will tell you honestly whether we can come.
What happens to your old tyre?
We take the old tyre away for proper disposal, and we confirm on the call whether that is included in the price. Tyres cannot go in household waste, most council tips limit how many they take, and dumping them is an offence, so taking the old one away is a real part of the job.
From the carrier, tyres are sorted. Most are shredded into rubber crumb for surfaces and products, or burned as fuel in cement kilns. A few with plenty of tread may be sold on as part-worns, which we do not fit or recommend.
If you want to keep the old tyre, for example for a warranty claim on a fault or to show a pothole claim assessor, tell the fitter before the job starts.

Have these ready when you call or message.
- Your tyre size. Printed on the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16 91V, or send a photo. Our guide to reading a tyre size explains each part.
- Your registration. It helps us confirm the correct size, load rating and any fitment the manufacturer specifies before we order.
- The exact location. A full postcode, plus any car park level, barrier or height limit.
- The locking wheel nut key. Usually in the glovebox or boot. If it is lost, we can remove the locking nut first.
- A safe, legal spot. A driveway, a residential street or a car park, with room beside the affected wheel. Never a hard shoulder.
