Pricing explained · quotes agreed first

How we price a
mobile tyre fitting

We do not publish a price list. What you pay depends on the tyre your car needs, the brand tier you choose, whether the tyre can be repaired or has to be replaced, and any extra work such as removing a locking wheel nut. The price is the same at any hour, and we agree it with you on the call before any work starts.

How pricing works

Why there is no price list on this page.

Mobile tyre fitting is not one product with one price. Two cars parked side by side can need very different tyres. A figure printed here would be wrong for most drivers, so instead we explain what decides the price and give you your exact figure on the call.

What the price is made of. Every quote is built from the same parts: the tyre (its size, its load and speed rating, and the brand tier you choose), the job (a new tyre fitted and balanced, or a puncture repair where BS AU 159 allows one), and any extras you tell us about, such as removing a locking wheel nut without its key. Give us those details and we give you one figure before any work starts.

The price is the same at any hour. Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays, when the diary allows, cost the same as a weekday job. The factors below apply to any mobile tyre fitting service, so you can also use them to compare quotes fairly.

What decides the price

What affects the cost of a mobile tyre fitting?

The tyre itself usually matters most.

Tyre size and rim diameter

The biggest single factor. A tyre is priced by its size, and larger rim diameters generally cost more than smaller ones. A 16-inch hatchback tyre and a 20-inch SUV tyre are very different purchases.

Load and speed rating

The code after the size, such as 91V, sets how much weight the tyre carries and how fast it can safely run. Higher ratings cost more. We fit the load and speed rating your vehicle handbook specifies.

Budget, mid-range or premium

The same size can come in several tiers. Premium usually costs more and often rates better for wet grip and noise. We quote the options in your size so you can choose.

Run-flat, XL, 4x4 and EV tyres

Run-flat, extra load (XL), 4x4 and EV-specific tyres use reinforced construction or special compounds, and are priced accordingly. See our run-flat tyres page for more.

How many tyres

One tyre, a pair across an axle or a full set changes the figure. If the partner tyre on the same axle is worn, we tell you so you can decide whether to do both.

Repair or replacement

A puncture repair costs less than a new tyre, but it is only possible within BS AU 159: in the central three-quarters of the tread, a hole no larger than 6mm, and a tyre that has not been driven on flat.

Extras such as locking wheel nuts

If the locking wheel nut key is lost or damaged, the nut has to be removed before the wheel can come off, which is an extra task. A damaged valve is another. Tell us on the call so it is in the figure. Read more about locking wheel nut removal.

The same price at any hour

Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays, when the diary allows, are priced exactly like a weekday job. The figure is agreed on the call and never changed without your agreement once we arrive. Our page on out-of-hours tyre fitting explains how those jobs work.

Where the car is

We work from one base at Brent Cross, NW2. Tell us the postcode and we confirm on the call whether we can take the job and when we can be with you. See the areas we cover.

Old tyre disposal

A replaced tyre has to be disposed of properly. Ask any fitter whether taking it away is part of their figure; we say so on the call.

For more detail, read our guides on what new tyres cost in the UK and what affects puncture repair cost.

No surprises

What is in our quote?

One figure, confirmed on the call, covering everything we have agreed to do.

  • The tyre itself: brand, tier, size and load and speed rating, so you can compare like for like.
  • Fitting and balancing: the tyre fitted to the wheel, balanced and refitted with the nuts torqued correctly.
  • Coming to you: at your home, your work or a safe spot off the main road, built into the one figure.
  • The same at any hour: evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays cost the same as a weekday job.
  • Extras you have told us about: such as locking wheel nut removal or a replacement valve.
  • Old tyre disposal: confirmed on the call, so there is no question on the day.
  • A repair and a replacement figure: for punctures, in case inspection shows the tyre cannot be repaired.
Compare fairly

Questions to ask any mobile tyre fitter

  • Is that the full price, including coming out, fitting, balancing and disposal?
  • Which brand and tier is the tyre, and does its load and speed rating match my handbook?
  • Is the price confirmed as one all-in figure before anyone sets off?
  • If the puncture cannot be repaired under BS AU 159, what happens then?
  • Does the price change in the evening or at the weekend?
  • When and how do I pay?
  • Is the new tyre covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

To get a quote faster, find your size with the tyre size calculator or read it off the sidewall with our guide to reading a tyre size, check the tyre’s age with the tyre date code checker, and see the tyres we fit.

Step by step

Get an exact price in one call.

The more we know about the tyre, the more accurate the quote.

→

Read the sidewall

Find the size on the side of the tyre. It looks like 205/55 R16 91V: width, profile, rim diameter, then load and speed rating.

→

Have the registration ready

If the sidewall is hard to read, the registration helps us check what the car should run. The sidewall is still more reliable, as a previous owner may have fitted a different size.

→

Send a photo on WhatsApp

A clear photo of the sidewall and the damage on WhatsApp 07473 720871 lets us confirm the size and whether a repair looks possible.

Agree the price, then we come

We confirm the full price on the call and give you an arrival time before anything happens. If inspection changes the job, we explain and agree it with you first.

Mobile or garage

Mobile tyre fitting or a garage: the honest trade-offs

Both have their place. Compare the full cost to you, including your time.

Mobile fitting compared with a garage visit
Mobile fittingGarage
Getting thereWe come to your home, your work or a safe spot off the main road. You drive there, which is not possible on a flat without fitting the spare or arranging a tow.
Your timeYou carry on at home or at work while the tyre is fitted. You wait on site or leave the car and come back.
BookingA time is agreed on the call, including evenings and weekends when the diary allows.Usually within opening hours.
Where the work happensNeeds a safe space to park the van beside the car.Done under cover, whatever the weather.
Extra jobsTyre fitting, balancing, puncture repairs and locking wheel nut removal at the car.A garage with a ramp can also check wheel alignment, which we do not offer.
PriceConfirmed on the call, coming out to you included.Confirmed at the counter; your travel time and any towing sit outside it.

If the car is driveable and you also want the tracking checked, a garage can suit you. If the tyre is flat or your time is better spent elsewhere, mobile fitting saves the tow, the drive and the wait. Either way, compare one all-in figure. Our guide to mobile versus garage tyre fitting costs goes into more detail.

FAQs

How the price works, answered.

Standards we work to: puncture repairs follow BS AU 159, as set out by TyreSafe; the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters (GOV.UK).

How much should a mobile tyre fitting cost?
It depends mainly on the tyre itself: the size, rim diameter, load and speed rating, and whether you choose a budget, mid-range or premium tyre. Then come the number of tyres, whether a repair is possible and any extras. Call or WhatsApp us with your size, for example 205/55 R16 91V, and we give you an exact figure before any work starts.
Is mobile tyre fitting worth it?
For many drivers, yes, especially with a flat. You avoid fitting the spare, arranging a tow or sitting in a waiting room. A garage can make sense if the car is driveable and you also want the wheel alignment checked. Compare the full quoted price, coming out to you included, not the tyre alone.
How much does a puncture repair cost compared with a new tyre?
A repair costs less than a new tyre, but whether one is possible matters most. Under BS AU 159 the puncture must be in the central three-quarters of the tread, no larger than 6mm, and the tyre must not have been driven on flat. We quote the repair and a replacement in your size, so you know both before we set off.
Why don't you publish prices on your website?
Because one figure online would be wrong for most drivers. It depends on your exact tyre size, rating and tier and on the work needed. Instead we confirm the full price on the call, and the enquiry is free.
Do you charge more at night or at weekends?
No. The price is the same at any hour: an evening, night, weekend or bank holiday job, when the diary allows, costs the same as a weekday one. The price is agreed on the call, so nothing is added once we arrive, and we give you an arrival time when you call.
Can the price change once you arrive?
Not without your agreement. The price is confirmed on the call before anything happens. If inspection changes the job, for example a puncture outside the BS AU 159 limits, we explain and agree the new price with you before doing any work. How and when you pay is also agreed on the call.
