Standards we work to: puncture repairs follow BS AU 159, as set out by TyreSafe; the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters (GOV.UK); motorway advice follows the Highway Code, rules 253 to 273.
Do you come to me to fit tyres?
Yes. We are fully mobile and have no walk-in garage. We come to your home, your workplace or a safe spot off the road and do the work where the car is parked.
When can you get to me?
It depends on where the car is. Every van leaves from our one base at Brent Cross in north-west London, so the arrival time depends on the distance and on the jobs already booked. We give you an arrival time on the call, before you commit to anything. Urgent jobs are fitted in if the diary allows.
How much does mobile tyre fitting cost?
It depends on the tyre size, the brand you choose, and whether the tyre can be repaired or needs replacing. We agree the full price on the call before any work, and it is the same at any hour, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Can you repair a puncture where the car is?
Yes, when the damage is repairable under BS AU 159. The tyre comes off the wheel and is checked inside first. Damage to the sidewall or shoulder, or a tyre that has been driven flat, means a new tyre instead.
Will you have my tyre size?
Common sizes are often on the van. Other sizes, including many run-flats and some premium brands, are sourced for the job. We confirm this on the call so the fitter brings the right tyre.
What areas do you cover?
London and the Home Counties, plus towns further out in the Midlands. The further the car is from Brent Cross, the longer it takes to reach, so for distant jobs call first and we will tell you whether we can come. If the car is unsafe where it is, your breakdown cover may reach you sooner.
Can you remove a locking wheel nut without the key?
Yes. We use extraction tools to remove seized or missing-key locking wheel nuts so the tyre can be changed. We explain the method before we start.
