What to put in your message

The more we know, the fewer questions we need to ask when we call back. Include:

  • the postcode or address where the car is, and whether it is on a driveway, in a car park or at the roadside;
  • the tyre size from the sidewall, for example 225/45 R17 94W, and how many tyres you need;
  • what is wrong: a puncture, a burst or bulging tyre, worn tread, or a warning light;
  • whether you have the locking wheel nut key, and whether the car has run-flat tyres;
  • when suits you, if it is not urgent: a day, a time window, or "as soon as possible".

What happens next

We reply by phone or WhatsApp to confirm the tyre, the price and a realistic time for the visit. Nothing is booked until you agree the price, and we tell you on the call how and when you pay. If the tyre turns out to be repairable to BS AU 159, we tell you and repair it rather than selling you a new one; see puncture repair for what can and cannot be fixed. For new tyres we can quote budget, mid-range and premium options in your size.

If it is urgent, or you are at the roadside, call 07473 720871 rather than using the form, because a phone call is the quickest way to reach us. We take evening, night, weekend and bank holiday jobs when the diary allows, at the same price as a weekday job.

Booking for a business or a fleet

If you run vans or several company cars, say so in the message. We can fit at your yard, depot or office car park and work through several vehicles in one visit, so drivers do not lose a day at a garage. Our article on fleet tyre management covers how to keep downtime low.

Not sure of your tyre size?

The size is printed on the sidewall, and it is the detail we need to quote and to have the right tyre for the job. Common sizes are often on the van; other sizes are sourced for the job. If the sidewall is hard to read, send a photo of it on WhatsApp; the registration can help us check the original size, and we confirm the size with you on the call. To compare a size you have been offered with the one on the car, use the tyre size calculator. If a tyre has been sitting unused, the tyre date code checker tells you its age from the DOT code, and the tyre pressure converter turns the PSI figure on the door sticker into bar if your gauge reads that way.

Is it urgent, or can it wait?

Both are fine, and the form works for either. For a planned job, such as worn tyres before an MOT or a set of winter tyres, give us a day and a time window that suits you and we fit at home or at work. For a tyre that is flat, burst or damaged now, call rather than use the form. Do not drive on a flat tyre to get somewhere more convenient, because that can ruin a tyre that might have been repairable. Our flat tyre help page covers what to do while you wait.

What do we need on the day?

  • access to the car and the keys, and the locking wheel nut key if the car has locking nuts;
  • a reasonably level, safe spot to work, such as a driveway, a quiet street or a car park, away from passing traffic;
  • if you are at work or leaving the car somewhere, a word with reception or a note of where the keys will be.

For a planned job you may not need to stay with the car, as long as we can reach you by phone; we agree that when you book. We never work on a motorway hard shoulder or slip road; if that is where the car is, call 999 if you are in danger or National Highways on 0300 123 5000, and we can meet the car once it has been recovered somewhere safe.

Other ways to reach us

Our contact page lists every way to get in touch, including email, our base at Brent Cross and our company details. We work from that one base, a depot rather than a garage, so we come to the car and there is no walk-in service. See the areas we cover; for places further out we tell you on the call whether we can take the job, and the arrival time.
