Burst tyreThe M6, the A38(M) and main roads
On the M6, leave at the next exit if the car can get there; if not, stop on the hard shoulder or in an emergency area, leave by the left-hand doors and wait behind the barrier. The A38(M) Aston Expressway has no hard shoulder: if you have to stop there, put the hazard lights on, and if you cannot get out safely, stay in the car with your seat belt on and call 999. Do not try to change the wheel there.
We never work on a motorway carriageway, hard shoulder, emergency area or slip road, so a car stopped on the A38(M) or near M6 junction 6 has to be recovered off it first. Once the car is on a residential street, a drive or a car park whose owner allows the work, we can fit a replacement there. If it is on a busy main road such as the A5127 Lichfield Road or the A4040 Aston Lane, tell us on the call, because it may need to be on a side street first.
